Medicare Advantage Plans

Medicare Advantage in Georgia and South Carolina

Medicare Advantage bundles Part A, Part B and usually Part D into one plan. Most plans add dental, vision and hearing. Zach Taylor compares plans from multiple carriers in your county so you find the one that covers your doctors at the lowest cost. He checks your doctors and prescriptions against each plan before you enroll.

How Medicare Advantage Works

One Card, Bundled Coverage

Medicare Advantage (Part C) replaces Original Medicare with a private plan that still covers everything Original Medicare covers. Most plans charge a $0 or low monthly premium on top of your Part B premium. The tradeoff is a network of approved doctors and facilities.

The right plan depends heavily on your county. Carrier networks, extra benefits and star ratings vary by ZIP code, which is why comparing plans with a licensed local agent produces better results than comparing them online without knowing the county-level market.

Lower Monthly Cost

Many plans carry a $0 additional premium. You still pay Part B, but there is no second monthly insurance bill.

Extra Benefits

Dental, vision, hearing and fitness benefits are standard on many plans. Original Medicare covers none of these.

Prescription Coverage

Most Medicare Advantage plans include Part D drug coverage so you have one plan for everything.

Medicare Advantage vs. Medicare Supplement

Which Plan Is Right for You?

How does Medicare Advantage differ from Medicare Supplement?
Medicare Advantage replaces Original Medicare with an all-in-one plan that has a network. Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare and lets you see any doctor who accepts Medicare nationwide. Advantage usually costs less per month; Supplement usually has lower out-of-pocket costs at the point of care.
Can I switch from Medicare Advantage to Medicare Supplement later?
Yes, but you may face medical underwriting outside your Open Enrollment Period, depending on your state. Georgia and South Carolina both follow federal guidelines, which means most people can only switch at enrollment or during special enrollment periods. Zach will walk you through the timing so you do not lock yourself in at the wrong time.
Does Medicare Advantage cover my current doctors?
It depends on the plan's network in your county. Before recommending any plan, Zach confirms your primary care doctor and any specialists are in-network. A plan that does not cover your doctor is not a good plan at any price.
