Final expense insurance is whole life coverage designed to pay for end-of-life costs like a funeral, burial or cremation, and remaining medical or credit-card bills. Benefits usually range from $2,000 to $50,000, premiums never increase, and the coverage never expires as long as you pay it.

What final expense insurance covers

The death benefit is paid in cash directly to the person you name. They can use it for anything: the funeral home, a headstone, travel for family, or unpaid bills.

Because the benefit is fixed and rates are locked for life, your family knows exactly what is there.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the benefit ever decrease?
No. With whole life final expense, the death benefit is guaranteed never to decrease and your premium is guaranteed never to increase.
What is a graded death benefit?
On guaranteed acceptance plans, if you pass away from natural causes in the first two years, the policy returns your premiums plus interest instead of the full benefit. After two years the full benefit is payable. Accidental death is usually covered from day one.
